Lightbulb changing day
I installed the "fire" light in the backyard
I've been getting "memory" emails from Facebook
showing me things I posted in 2009
It's interesting to see what I was thinking way back then
[Facebook memory]
i may have tricked myself into not wanting the things i know i'll never get
"I don't want a big expensive car . I'm happy with my Fiesta"
"It's probably better for all involved that I don't have a girlfriend"
[Facebook memory]
how do you know you care for somebody ?
when you're looking forward to their birthday more than they are
It sounds like a nice sentiment
but it also sounds a little stalker-ish
[Facebook memory]
when i was born
i was given the choice
of having a huge penis
or a great memory
i don't remember which i chose
I think it's better to joke about having a small penis , rather than bragging about having a large penis
"under-promise and over-deliver"
I decided to flush the water heater again , it's low effort
This time I shut off all of the water , and let the water slowly trickle out of the bottom
I think my plumbing might be feeding water back into itself
The instructions say to turn off the cold water intake to the heater , and open at least one hot water tap in the house
but water still just slowly trickles out the bottom
Until I turn on a cold water tap in the house , and water starts gushing out the bottom
I wish I could pull open my walls and see how my pipes run
I finished assembling the mailbox and installed it on the front porch
I had this great idea to different logos on it as instructions to the delivery people
FedEx , UPS , Amazon , USPS , etc
I was going to print them up and attach them with magnets
but it turns out that the sheet metal isn't magnetic
I thought it was iron , but it might be aluminum
A young pawpaw tree has trouble with strong direct summer sunlight
It 'burns' the leaves
So you're supposed to cover them with shade cloth until they get older
I rebuilt the tree's cage , and secured its trunk with a post
I'll cover it up next spring
One of my pleasures is turning off alarm clock on friday morning
and not worrying about it again until sunday night
or even monday morning
Another solar eclipse is coming across the U.S. today
Its center is in Panama
I have no intention of driving down to Central America
so the best place for viewing that I found would be in Corpus Cristi , Texas , right on the water
I was planning on driving down there and spending the weekend
but I was turned off by people on the internet who said it was 'only' going to be an annular eclipse
which means that the moon is too small to cover the whole of the sun , and would just leave a ring around it
I'm now wishing I had gone down there
The weather is clear and I've never been to the Gulf of Mexico before
I was thinking about taking my boat too
Assassination Classroom
It started 'not fun' , but ended up being wholesome
I really like when I can watch the beginning , middle , and end of a story
One reason I enjoy avoiding human interaction is that it reduces the number of embarrassing moments to relive in my mind
I really don't like ordering clothes off the internet
but I've gotten confident of my jean sizes
I ordered two pairs of blue jeans from the Carhartt website
They arrived today , but the delivery person didn't use my new mailbox
I've found myself saying "this is the last time I'll do something"
sail my boat , buy new pants , buy a new car , have a midnight beer , buy a new house
What I mean is that the weather is getting colder and I won't do some things until next spring
or that the things I own will last me a long time , maybe for a few decades
but I'm worried that I've tapped into some future-sight and am predicting my upcoming death

my latest million dollar idea:
Desktop (American) Football
like a game of Dungeons & Dragons, but on a football field
game character's stats would be based on real life players
roll the dice to see how far a kick went, to see if a throw was caught/intercepted, etc
and have a dungeon master/referee running things
This sounds like a good idea , but I think trying to coordinate 20+ characters on the field would would be difficult
Maybe Desktop Baseball would be a better idea
Pitcher throws the ball , roll a die
Batter swings , roll a die
Outfielder tries to catch the ball , roll a die
Runner runs , roll a die
It dropped below freezing last night
I think it's a bit early to call it 'the first day of winter'
It is amazingly warm today
It reached eighty degrees
I am grateful for all this extra warm weather we're having

what's worse than being 'all dressed up and nowhere to go" ?
having a costume and not being invited to a halloween party
I've kept all of the old Halloween costumes I've made over the years
Mostly because I'm a bit of a hoarder
but also because you never know when you might need a costume
I've seen mnay rainy Halloweens
but today it actually snowed
Not much snow , just a few flakes
I sat on the front porch again with a bucket of candy
I opened my living room windows , and turned up the volume on the speakers
I ran a cable out to my laptop and played a bunch of Halloween music
