I took the boat out to the lake for the first time this year
The wind was blowing out of the east
so I wasn't sure how I would be able to play in the party area in the east side of the lake
For some reason , it took me forever to sail against the wind
It was different , but not difficult to navigate between the shore and the boats
I sailed downwind , and thought instead of going around the outside I'd try to weave through the other boats as I pushed against the wind
As I was struggling to get around one boat , I bumped into one boat and scratched it in a couple of places
I profusely apologized and sailed away
I had to decide to either run home , or awkwardly make eye contact with the old man whose boat I scratched
I ran home
Of course , this is now a "core memory"
and I will cringe every time think about it
Into the Spiderverse
I had heard that this was going to be part one of two
This spoiler definitely colored my experience
When long stories are split into two parts , you can notice how slow paced they become
I'm definitely going to need another watch through with subtiles on
I don't expect I will ever get married
Even if I do find a female friend
I don't know if I would see the point in getting married to her
But in hearing other people's ideas for their wedding ceremony and reception
I've come up with some ideas that are completely different from your standard church wedding
In the invitations , we will have to explain that this will be completely different from what they expect
and we will request that they not feel obligated to bring gifts or money or cards
Your presence at our wedding is gift enough
I never understood the idea of "we spent money on our wedding , so you have to pay us back"
For the venue , I'd like a lake-side (non public) park
I've got the idea of an off-site parking lot , and a shuttle to and from the party
The itinerary will be all day and all night party with the ceremony at 4pm
For food , I'm thinking tacos . . . food you can hold in one hand while walking around the party
and of course , an open bar
I'm wondering if you can make an entire wedding cake out of Cinnebon
I'm thinking of color coding the guests with some sort of neckwear
based on if they're with the bride or groom , and their relationship with them , family \ friend \ classmate \ co-worker
Entertainment: boat rides , video games , bring your dogs to the dog park , cats in the house
I don't know what I want for music
For the ceremony , there will be no walking down the aisle
As a party game , the guests will organize themselves into two lines , based on when they met either the bride or groom
So the mother would be first in line , probably followed by older family members , classmates , co-workers , younger family
Thus creating a symbolic timeline of the bride\groom's life
Then the bride and groom walk along their line of people , greeting each person
Then they meet in the middle at the altar
I got guilted into a family gathering at Annie's house
Annie , Mom , Bill , Matt's kinds , Tom , Mira , and Jake
None of them are bad people
but it was a beautiful day and I'd prefer to be sailing
rather than sitting around trying to make small talk
Afterwards , Mom said she needed a ride back to Muskegon
I said if we're going , then we're going right now instead of tomorrow
So, three hours from Annie's house , and four hours back to my house
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
I'm defnitely seeing a pattern in these Transformers movies
Too much human drama , not enough robot fighting
A McGuffin to find then keep out of the bad guy's hands
I've had a mouse in the house
I set out the cage to catch it

I took the kayak out to the river
The water seemed less polluted with chemicals , and more with goose poop
I wouldn't jump in the water either way , but I'm thinkin that poop-water would be a good fertilizer
I paddled down to my hidden spot between Michigan and Southfield
only to discover that it's not so private
There's a road on the other side of the river that is part of Greenfield Village , cars kept driving past
and a couple of bicycles were riding on the concrete
There was no opportunity for naked time
I used sunscreen , but ended up getting burned anyway , I'm wondering if sunscreen does go bad after time
Right now , I'm at BLDG1 just sitting around waiting for a few terabytes of data to transfer
I'm kinda bored and am forcing myself to watch Gotham Knights
It's a pretty not-bad show , but sometimes I go "blah" and try to ignore it
In between the superhero drama , the kids in the show have started making out and fucking
It's made me a bit jealous and lonely
I'm imagining somebody inquiring about my relationship history (not that anybody would ever care enough to do so)
I'd shrug and say I'd never had one
"Never ?!"
"Well , there was a girl I dated in highschool for a few months , but I was an idiot child"
"and I've only had two naked encounters with women , but both times there was no pleasure experienced by either party"
"so I'm practically still a virgin"
I'll be fifty years old soon
and when I try to imagine what kind of relationship I might get into , it is never a pleasant thought
What kind of woman could I find ?
a single mother ? a drug addict ? a gold digger ? an actual crazy person ? somebody like my mother ?
I've been scared off the idea of dating by all of the Tinder horror stories I've heard
I'm worried about the idea that if I do date somebody for a while , then we break up , and then they come back and start harassing me and banging on my door
I hate the idea that any sex life I do have now won't be as much fun as it might have been when we were young
A middle age man with a floppy dick , and a menapausal woman , both too tired to have naked-sexy-fun-time with any passion
So what kind of woman do I want ?
I think I'd like to just date a female version of myself
Some woman whose early life wasn't so great , and is only getting stable in middle age
But any woman who is like me would have passively spread her legs for any man who asked and gotten pregnant
I'm imagining finding a pleasant woman to date
but she's already lived her life , had multiple lovers , gotten married , had kids
Now that I'm relatively finacially stable , I feel like I'm just getting started in life
Any relationship would be new to me
but for this hypothetical woman , I'd just be the next chapter in her life
I'd like to date somebody who is also experiencing these things for the first time
and we can live and learn together at the same time
The forcast was predicting thunderstorms this afternoon
but not until late in the afternoon
so I got myself out of the house and went sailing
There was a strong wind coming out of the south
It was hard to get away from the shore
Once I started moving , it was easy to sail across the lake
For some reason the sherrifs had a strong presence in and around the lake
I'm wondering if some rich bastard was complaining about all of these boats in 'their' lake , and got the cops to try to scare people off
There weren't many boats in the party area
It was easy to maneuver between them
It was overcast all day , so I thought I could get away with not using sunscreen , and get a little bit of a tan
Boy was I wrong
I am very sunburnt on my arms chest and legs
"an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"
An ounce of sunscreen is worth a gallon of sunburn cream
I don't have a definite solution for sunburns
but my process is
immediately get in the shower to wash off the lake water
glop on as much sunburn cream as you can , and leave it on for as long as possible
drink as much water as you can , try to over-hydrate
I'm working at WHQ today
I renewed a bunch of computers and was done with work by 2pm
I was looking forward to going home and glopping on some more sunburn cream
I tried to start the car , but got the "key not detected" error again
I removed the battery in the key , but still nothing
I am currently waiting for the tow truck
The car suddenly decided to start when the tow truck was literally a minute away
I went to a auto repair shot and bought a second key for the car
It cost $240 for the key
There are a few stages of recovering from a sunburn
First is painfully sensitive skin
Any extra heat will cause pain
and even lightly rubbing your clothes against your skin will cause pain
Next is itchy skin
Your skin gets really dry
The itchiness becomes really unbearable
but you have to be careful not to damage your skin even more by scratching
Last is the peeling skin
The top layer of skin becomes disconnected from the lower layer
It can be tempting to peel the skin off
but that will leave you with your now top layer raw and unprotected
Sometimes if you get sweaty , the sweat will get trapped between the layers of skin and cause it to bubble up
I trans-planted the yucca plants into the corner between the sidewalks and streets
Almost every day , I would take a five gallon bucket of water and pour it over the plants
I've pulled out any weeds I've found
Three of the center stalks sprouted and grew flowers
I've been a bit paranoid anytime people would walk past the flowers
I was worried that some asshole would destroy the plants
Somebody had snapped the top off of one of the sprouts so it wouldn't grow any taller
I went back to the auto repair shop to pick up the spare key I had ordered
They charged me another $150 to program the key
FOUR HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS FOR A CAR KEY
