For many years , I got my hair cut at a place called Bananas , on Woodward Ave
but when 2008 happened , they closed and I had to find other places get my hair cut
It was during this time that I got my hair cut four times a year , on the solstices and equinoxes
Now I shave my head three times a year
on January 1st , May 1st , and September 1st
By the third month , my hair is an attractive length
which works for early August , December , and April
By the fourth month , it's gets long enough to be uncomfortable
It saves me a lot of money over the years
On saturdays , I usually only have one chore that needs doing , going shopping
Once I get that done , I can do whatever I like after that , which is usually just playing video games
but if I don't get it done early , I get stuck in this unproductive loop of
"don't start a long gaming session , you have to go shopping"
"okay , how about just a few minutes of web surfing"
"this is boring , i want to play games"
"not until you go shopping"
"i don't want to leave the house yet"
"okay , how about just a few minutes of web surfing"
. . .
and then the whole day is wasted
I'm glad I forced myself to go sailing , it was a good day
Labor day weekend brings out a lot of amature boaters
The boat cops were out in force
The lawn needed mowing , but what motivated me to get out of my chair
was a desire to create a weed blocker around the stop sign
I took twice as long to get the job done , because I ran the mower over each row twice
This week's lunch will have watermelon for the fruit
I cut a hole in the watermelon
attached a mixer blade to my drill
and used that to scrape out and liquify the innards
Then I poured it into jars and froze them
Cutting into a watermelon is a huge commitment
I ended up drinking a quart of it , and fiercely pooping it out later
I need more three day weekends
I use saturday to recover from the week
Sunday is for chores
I need another day just for me
Came home from work , decided to have a wank and a nap
I was having this really intense dream about not finding a place to pee
Every time I would start to pee , something would interupt me
. . .
and then my brain finally figured out what was going on
I woke to find I had completely pissed myself
I stripped off the smelly clothes
stumbled to the toilet
and had to mentally confirm that I was in the correct place for pissing this time
A relatively full day for a saturday
I went shopping , of course
I decided to ge my laundry done today also , instead of sunday
For many years i've wondered about Outer Drive
How can it cross Southfield freeway , I-96 , Michigan Ave , Southfield freeway again , and I-75 ?
Today , i have my answer
I drove the entire length of it
It's an interesting way to spend two hours
You get a good sample of the metro Detroit area
Old neighborhoods , bad roads , a nature area \ park , schools
It was almost all residential area the whole way , almost no stores or commercial areas
You could tell most of the houses along the way were built during the same time period , the architecture was similar
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
It was a good movie , good characters and good story
It feels a bit outside of the current MCU , but so did Guardians of the Galaxy and AntMan at the time
I again wasn't looking forward to the family picnic
I brought a watermelon , drilled into it , and served the juice in cups
It was hot , so I wore my kilt
I didn't feel any negative comments about it
In fact a couple of people new about the shop in Seattle

My entire life , until I was 45 years old , I lived in the same house in Southfield
When I was a few months old , after my parents got divorced , my mom and a bunch of us moved into the house
I grew up there , and like the rest of the siblings , stayed longer than I should have
When mom moved to Grand Haven , I moved back in and started paying the bills
I lived there by myself for fifteen years , until Tommy convinced mom that it was time to sell the house
The house sold quickly , and the new people painted it blue
I was expecting myself to feels pains of nostalgia
since it was the only place I had ever lived , and was filled with all my memories
but I moved into my new house , and haven't looked back much
Drove down to Ohio for the Pawpaw fest
I didn't need to worry about being in a hurry
there wasn't much to see , and wasn't all that exciting
I did manage to purchase a few pawpaws
They're kinda hard to eat with the large seeds , but they are tasty
The fair wasn't as pawpaw-centric as I expected
It felt more like an art fair , just a bunch of people selling their jewelry and knick-knacks
Bought a beer in a souvenier glass , a t-shirt , a pie , and some fudge
I'm always surprised how much temperature difference there is between a few hundred miles of latitude
It was a hot day , so I dunked my head in the lake
After seeing everything there was to see , I left after just a few hours
I felt silly about driving back and forth for nine hours , and only staying at the event for three hours
but I guess that goes to show how far you have to travel for a Pawpaw

There are a bunch of people that I'm not familiar with working in the warehouse
Apparently , the marshals came and took away some guy named "Nick"
I don't know who that was , and I guess I won't waste the brain power trying to remember him
And Chris and Scott have been getting rid of people that have been under-performing
It makes you wonder what kind of people TekSystems is sending to us
but I like that these not-great people are making me look good by comparison
